Divorce is Not A Curse, But A Natural Transition – Empress Gifty

Empress Gifty Adorye Breaks Silence on Divorce Stigma saying, “It’s Not a Curse, But a Natural Transition”.

Renowned gospel singer Empress Gifty Adorye has boldly addressed the societal stigma surrounding divorce, sharing her personal journey and offering a refreshing perspective on this often-taboo subject. In a candid interview on Channel One TV’s “Upside Down” entertainment show, co-hosted by Frema Adunyame and Nana Tuffour, Empress Gifty opened up about her experiences.

After over a decade of marriage, Empress Gifty divorced Prophet Elisha Osei and has since found happiness with Hopeson Adorye, a former member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Reflecting on her past, she acknowledged the challenges of divorce.

“It was tough, especially when you’re a public figure,” she shared. “But I had an incredible support system – my mother and aunt, Mama G. They helped me stay focused.”

Empress Gifty challenged societal views on divorce, emphasizing that it’s not a curse, but rather a natural phase of life. “Divorce is simply a transition. It’s something that can happen to anyone.”

As a mother of two daughters, aged 16 and 14, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Empress Gifty highlighted the importance of emotional resilience. “I’ve learned to forgive, to choose my battles wisely, and to prioritize my relationships.”

The award-winning gospel artist concluded with a message of hope and growth. “Divorce may be difficult, but it’s not the end. With the right support and mindset, you can emerge stronger and wiser.”
