Kelvin Sampane Addo, popularly known as Akonoba, a renowned Ghanaian TikTok comedian and content creator, has embarked on a new journey abroad in pursuit of a fresh start. This move comes after a period of personal challenges and public scrutiny.

Akonoba, celebrated for his cross-dressing roles and humorous skits, shared videos of his departure from Kotoka International Airport, accompanied by family and friends. In an emotional moment, he expressed gratitude to his father for understanding and supporting his career in content creation.

“Daddy and son vibes. Thanks so much for understanding my work now, Daddy. I do appreciate the love and support for me now. Love you so much,” he wrote in a caption accompanying one of the videos.

The relocation follows the tragic loss of his 17-year-old brother, Nana Yaw Sampene Junior, in August 2024. The funeral, held in their hometown of Bekwai in the Ashanti Region, deeply affected Akonoba, leading him to take a hiatus from social media.

During his time in the public eye, Akonoba faced speculation regarding his gender expression, with some questioning his sexuality due to his feminine traits. He addressed these rumors in an interview on the Delay Show, stating:

“While growing up, I felt a little bit girlish. But I cannot kill myself over this. I am not entirely feminine, but I do have a slight feminine side. That is how I was born, and I cannot do anything about it. I am not gay; I am very straight. No male has ever approached me.”

Akonoba’s decision to relocate marks a significant step in his personal and professional journey, as he seeks new opportunities and a fresh environment to continue his work in content creation.
