BET award-winning artist Black Sherif has unveiled his latest single, ‘OH NO,’ released through his record label RBA and EMPIRE. This track reinforces the 21-year-old artist’s position as one of the leading figures spearheading Africa’s music scene on a global scale. ‘OH NO’ is a genre-blending anthem that combines elements of Highlife, Soul, and Drill, expertly produced by his in-house producer and long-time collaborator, Samsney, with additional production by Joker Nharnah. The song reflects the rapper’s resilience in the face of adversity while remaining authentic to his craft.

The song’s powerful chorus features Black Sherif, the ‘BET International Flow’ winner, reaffirming his commitment to working hard and staying true to his roots, refusing to compromise his identity. When discussing the inspiration behind ‘OH NO,’ the artist explained, “It feels like I’m standing on the edge of an open pit, unsure of the outcome of the very next step I take at that moment. I’ve chosen to live my life without the fear of falling into that pit. There are voices around and within me, either guiding my next step away from the pit or pushing me to fall into the abyss. ‘Oh No’ serves as a reaffirmation of my destiny and my calling. It’s my way of defining who I am, what I believe in, and celebrating the hard work I’ve put in so far,” Black Sherif shared.

Black Sherif kicked off the year with a double single release titled ‘Take Care of Yourself Blacko,’ featuring soothing, self-care affirmations that emphasize healing and introspection on his journey. Since the release of his debut album, ‘The Villain I Never Was,’ last year, Black Sherif has cemented his position as one of Africa’s most influential creative voices. He has garnered significant global streaming numbers, earning him the title of the most-streamed Ghanaian artist of 2022 on Spotify and the most-streamed Ghanaian artist of all time on the popular African streaming platform, Boomplay.
