O’SECTEC Does It in Grand Style: Wins 3000$ As Runner Up in UNDP Innovative Waste Challenge

Obuasi Senior High Technical School has made the region proud as they emerge as runners up in the Innovative Solutions For Waste Management Challenge organized courtesy the partnership of UNDP and the Ghana Education Service.

The Obuasi based school has emerged as a key player in robotics and technology as they keep chalking successes in various competitions. The school received three thousand dollars as their package for placing 2nd.

39 schools participated in the competition and 5 qualified to the finals. After the first round of the presentation obuasi SHTS was first and after the final presentation at the Accra international conference center, St. Catheren SHS from the Volta region leapfroged Obuasi SHTS from Ashanti to pick the first position. The third position was picked by Mamfeman SHS from the central Region. Aburi Girls were fourth and the fifth school was Cape-coast Technical.

The Ashanti Regional Students Representative Council congratulates Obuasi SHTS for this amazing feat.
