Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur Salma Mumin has fueled a conversation with her recent revelation about a potential career path that diverges from the luxury of the entertainment industry.
In a candid conversation on TV3’s “The Afternoon Show” , the screen goddess shared her openness to becoming a prophetess of God, attributing her spiritual leanings to her upbringing by her guardians, who were pastors.
Salma’s childhood was immersed in the teachings of God, courtesy of her aunt and uncle, who led the Apostolic Church in Accra. She fondly recalls attending Sunday school, learning scripture, and delving into the Bible. Her fascination with the holy book led her to attempt reading it from cover to cover, starting from Genesis. However, she stopped at Revelation, overwhelmed by the intense revelations she encountered, which left her frightened.
“I grew up in an environment where spirituality was paramount,” Salma explained. “My aunt and uncle were pastors, and I was actively involved in the church. I started reading the Bible from Genesis, but when I reached Revelation, the revelations, it became too much for me to handle.”
Salma’s experiences as a prayer warrior during her childhood have also had a profound impact on her spiritual journey. She shared how, even as a young girl, she would receive divine revelations during prayer sessions, which both amazed and intimidated her. “I could see things when I prayed, and that scared me,” she admitted.
When asked if she envisions herself as a prophetess in the future, Salma responded with a sense of openness and humility. “It’s not far from me,” she said, indicating that her religious upbringing has laid the groundwork for such a calling. While she doesn’t claim to possess the gift of prophecy currently, she expressed her willingness to step into the role “someday, if God permits.”
As she continues to navigate her spiritual journey, it remains to be seen whether she will indeed answer the call to become a prophetess. One thing is certain, however, Salma Mumin’s openness about her faith has humanized her in the eyes of her audience, showcasing a side of her that transcends the glamour of the entertainment industry.
