Ghanaian female songstress Wendy Shay has once again proved herself as the queen of dancehall music as she tops the charts as the ‘most streamed female artist’ in 2022.

Earlier this year, the Ruff Town records signee Wendy Shay was the only female Ghanaian artist who was featured in the chart of Boomplay during the weekly top 100 songs.

Wendy Shay’s popular track Survivor made it to the Boomplay charts as Black Sherif’s “Kwaku the Traveler” came tenth on the charts.

In the newly released list, Wendy Shay has beat the likes of Gyakie and Diana Hamilton who fell in the second and third position respectively on the chart. Wendy Shay pulled 30.9 million plus streams with over 2 million listeners. Also, Boomplay recorded that Wendy Shay’s Survivor was streamed mostly in Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya.

Wendy Shay’s song Survivor was released in May 2022 and was the first song she released after she took a break from the music space. She later released her EP titled “Enigma” which has the viral ‘Habiba’ song.
