Kumasi based Ghanaian rapper and 2021 VGMA Hiphop Song of the Year winner, Yaw Tog says that he has no intention of furthering his education at the moment but focus on music since that puts food on his table.
In a recent interview with Hello FM and reported by www.ameyawdebrah.com, it stated that the “Sore” hitmaker is making music his major priority right presently.
”I’m doing music, I’m working. That’s my priority right now.”
When asked about his plans of going to the university, he answered saying;
“The university is not going to pay me. University will never give me money to survive in life. So, I have planned my life in such a manner that I want to make some money before I go back to the university because if I go now, what will I use to pay my fees?” Yaw Tog is quoted to have said.
Born Thorsten Owusu Gyimah, Yaw Tog, is a young rapper who majors in drill music, popularly known as Asakaa.
He is best known for his viral song “Sore” which featured O’Kenneth, City Boy, Reggies & Jay Bahd and also Kwesi Arthur and Stormzy on the remix produced by Chris Rich.
Yaw Tog is an old student of Opoku Ware Secondary School (OWASS) and the few years in the industry, has earned many nominations including Breakthrough Artiste of the Year and Viral Song of the Year at 2021 3Music Awards.
In the same year, Yaw Tog earned a spot in the Most Influential Ghanaian Act of the Year at the Global Music Awards Africa and crowned the year in 2021 as winner of Best Hiphop Song of the Year at Ghana Music Awards.
