Ghanaian sanitation volunteer youth group, Buzstopboys, have made history by receiving international recognition for their selfless efforts to keep their country clean. In a heartwarming ceremony, the group was honored by the Rochester City Council of New York State with a certificate of appreciation signed by the council’s president, Miguel A. Meléndez Jr., and vice president LaShay D. Harris.
Akosua, a US citizen of Ghanaian descent, presented the award on behalf of the Rochester City Council, praising the Buzstopboys for their vital role in promoting a clean, vibrant, and healthy community. The group’s founder, Heneba Kwadwo Safo, expressed gratitude on behalf of the Buzstopboys, saying, “We are very grateful and we appreciate it, thank you very much.”
This recognition is a testament to the group’s dedication to making a positive impact in their community. Despite being a local initiative, their efforts have resonated globally, inspiring others to take action.
