Just Because King Paluta’s Song ‘Makoma’ Took Over Doesn’t Mean It Should Disrupt My Plans – Amerado

Ghanaian rapper Amerado has responded to backlash surrounding the release of his song “Date Rush,” which closely followed King Paluta’s viral hit “Makoma.” In an interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z with Kwame Dadzie, Amerado shared the untold story behind the timing of the two releases.

Amerado revealed that he initially planned to drop “Playman,” a collaborative track with King Paluta, on the same day “Makoma” was released. However, upon learning of King Paluta’s plans, he graciously agreed to delay his own release.

“I decided to push mine back a week to give him his moment,” Amerado explained.

Despite criticism that “Date Rush” overshadowed “Makoma,” Amerado defended his decision, emphasizing that he couldn’t have predicted the massive success of King Paluta’s track.

“I’m not a magician; I didn’t know ‘Makoma’ would blow up like that,” Amerado said.

Amerado highlighted “Date Rush”‘s significant attention on TikTok and stressed the importance of diversity in the industry.

“Just because ‘Makoma’ took over doesn’t mean it should disrupt my plans,” he asserted. “Not every song can be a monster hit, and variety is essential.

Confident in his artistry, Amerado emphasized that multiple artists can succeed simultaneously.
