Byno Ayoni, the triumphant winner of TV3’s Mentor season 12, has courageously opened up about the painful struggles he’s faced in the entertainment industry due to his skin color.
In an emotional and heartfelt interview with Graphic Online, the young sensation revealed the harsh reality of losing countless opportunities solely because of his appearance.
“I’ve lost count of the many deals that have slipped through my fingers just because of my skin,” Byno shared, his voice filled with conviction. “But I knew what I was going through was to build me up for greater things ahead, which is showing up now.”
Despite the setbacks, Byno’s optimism and resilience shine through. He chooses to view his condition as a source of strength, rather than weakness.
“Every disability comes with a lot of perception, but I call it a special ability,” he emphasized. “No matter the circumstances you find yourself in, you can always become better.”
Byno’s journey towards self-acceptance and confidence is inspiring. He even changed his stage name from Emperor to Byno, symbolizing his newfound self-assurance.
“I want people like myself who want to be in showbiz to be confident and not look down on themselves,” he explained. “I’m proud of who I am, and I want others to feel the same.”
Byno’s story serves as a powerful reminder that true beauty lies within, and that every individual deserves respect and opportunities regardless of their appearance.
