Guru, University of Ghana’s newly elected Students Representative Council (SRC) President, has expressed gratitude to top Ghanaian celebrities for their support during his campaign.
In an interview on Hitz FM, the “Lapaz Toyota” hitmaker credited Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Lilwin, Keche, and Dr. Cryme for his victory. Their endorsement, he said, boosted his visibility on campus and significantly contributed to his win.
Stonebwoy publicly endorsed Guru at GIMPA, while Sarkodie asked his fans to support and vote for him. Keche sent broadcast messages encouraging students to cast their votes in Guru’s favor. Lilwin and Dr. Cryme joined Guru’s door-to-door campaign, increasing his presence and connection with students.
Though Guru doesn’t have personal relationships with all these celebrities, their backing greatly influenced his campaign. He plans to show appreciation on social media and reciprocate their kindness in the future.
Guru believes their contributions were crucial to his success. “Their support motivated students to vote for me,” he said. “I’m forever grateful.”
As SRC President, Guru aims to make a lasting impact on the University of Ghana. His victory demonstrates the power of community support and celebrity endorsements in student politics.
Guru’s campaign was built on a promise to listen to students’ concerns and advocate for their welfare. With the support of Ghanaian celebrities and students, he’s poised to deliver on this promise.
The University of Ghana’s SRC elections marked a new era in student leadership. Guru’s victory inspires hope for positive change and student empowerment.
