Kwadwo Sheldon, CEO of Kwadwo Sheldon Studios, has declared his unwavering support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), stating that he will back the party even if it spends 2000 years in opposition. This bold statement comes in response to perceived bias among some journalists and self-proclaimed neutrals who seem to have aligned themselves with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government. Sheldon points out that these individuals have received appointments within the government, suggesting a conflict of interest.
As an open supporter of the NPP, Sheldon asserts that he will not be intimidated or swayed by public opinion. He proudly declares his affiliation with the “Elephant Family” (NPP’s symbol). On Twitter, Sheldon wrote: “Seen the way ‘neutrals’ and ‘journalists’ are moving in the system? Ahaaa this is why I will never allow anyone to intimidate me for belonging to the Elephant Family! 2000 years in opposition, kraaa 3y3 kukruduu!!!!”
Sheldon’s statement reflects his commitment to his political beliefs and his willingness to express them, regardless of the party’s position in government. His comments highlight the complexities of political allegiance and the blurred lines between neutrality and partisanship in Ghana’s media landscape.
