Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene has opened up about why music duo DopeNation may have struggled during their time at Lynx Entertainment, suggesting the twins were too reliant on the label for success.
In an interview on Hitz FM, Kuami Eugene shared that the “Zanku” hitmakers appeared to expect Lynx to handle every aspect of their careers, something he (Kuami Eugene) described as wanting to be “spoon-fed.”
“At Lynx, you have to be ready to work. You can’t sit back and wait for everything to be done for you,” Eugene said.
“Maybe they were expecting the label to do all the heavy lifting, but that’s not how it works here.”
DopeNation, made up of twins B2 and Twist, joined Lynx Entertainment in 2019 but parted ways just a year later. Their exit sparked speculation, with some suggesting internal conflicts or unmet expectations.
Kuami Eugene’s comments now offer a glimpse into what may have been the underlying issue: a mismatch in work ethic and expectations. He emphasized that Lynx is best suited for artists who are ready to take initiative, not just those waiting for the label to push them forward.
Although neither Lynx nor DopeNation has publicly responded to Eugene’s latest remarks, the statement adds a new layer to the conversation surrounding their short-lived time with the label.
