Ghanaian rap icon Sarkodie has thrown his weight behind rising star Moliy, celebrating her global success after a viral moment at a New York Liberty NBA game. Moliy shared a video of herself enjoying a courtside moment during the game, where she stood up to dance and was cheered on by the spectators.
Sarkodie commented on the video, saying, “The wins overflow!!! Beautiful to watch you enjoy every bit of it … best yet to come.” This show of support comes on the heels of Moliy’s phenomenal rise to fame with her hit song “Shake It To The Max”, which has catapulted her to the top of charts across the UK, US, and beyond.
The song’s remix, featuring Jamaican dancehall heavyweights Skillibeng and Shenseea, recently clinched the number one spot on the US Billboard Afrobeats Chart, a rare feat for a Ghanaian female artist. Moliy’s success has been gaining momentum, with her music blending West African highlife and afrobeats rhythms with global influences.
Some of Moliy’s notable achievements include:
– Breakthrough Performance: Moliy’s feature on Amaarae’s “Sad Girlz Luv Money” remix alongside Kali Uchis debuted at number 80 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
– Chart-Topping Success: “Shake It To The Max” debuted at number 20 on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart.
– Collaborations: Moliy has collaborated with Jamaican icons Shenseea and Skillibeng on the remix of “Shake It To The Max”.
– Festival Appearances: Moliy was invited on stage by Vybz Kartel at the 2025 Wireless Festival held at Finsbury Park.
Sarkodie’s congratulatory message to Moliy highlights her growing influence in the global music scene.
