Renowned Ghanaian rapper and two time VGMA (Ghana Music Awards) Artiste of the Year winner, Sarkodie is expressing his profound gratitude to Iyiola Ayoade, the brain behind the much distinguished Ghana Music awards.
In the last 24 years, Iyiola Ayoade’s led Charterhouse has been celebrating and honouring Ghanaian musicians and their works with its yearly awards ceremony.
The annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) which started in 1999 has grown to become one, if not the biggest event/ awards ceremony on Ghana’s entertainment calendar.
It throws the spotlight on Ghana’s music, as well as give much prominence to musicians with artistes always looking forward to grab a VGMA award and most importantly, win the ultimate Artiste of the Year as testament of their distinction in the year under review.
In a Facebook post yesterday (September 8), Sarkodie, who has been a beneficiary of the awards scheme with many awards to his credit, described Iyiola Ayoade’s support for Ghana’s music industry as a beautiful story that people will get to watch in future.
